Gulley Named Associate Athletic Director

Izaih Gulley Named Associate Athletic Director for External Relations

Â鶹ͷÌõ Assistant Vice President for Athletics John Ashaolu announced the hiring of Izaih Gulley to the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations position. Gulley joins Â鶹ͷÌõ after spending the last three years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Engagement and Development at fellow GLVC school, the University of Illinois-Springfield.  Gulley officially starts at Â鶹ͷÌõ December 2. 

"This is an important position for our athletic department and I am excited to add Izaih to the senior staff to lead our external unit," Ashaolu said. "Izaih's background in sales and successful experience in the external position has provided him with the ability to oversee all facets of the external side of an athletic department.  We have audacious goals for Flyer Athletics and Izaih's acumen and innovative approach will be a key part of realizing those goals."

During his time at UIS, Gulley was responsible for focusing on the UIS gameday environment, partnerships with local businesses and reconnecting with athletic alumni.

Prior to his time at UIS, Gulley was a Fox Sports Production Intern in Dallas, Texas where he assisted in the delivery and distribution of on-air promotions to internal and external partners. 
  
Gulley is a two-time graduate of Eastern Illinois University. Gulley graduated from Eastern Illinois with a Kinesiology and Sports Studies, Sports Management, Business Administration degree in 2020. He also earned his Masters in Sports Administration with a concentration in Marketing in 2021.

He was a member of the Panthers football team from 2016-2020, appearing in 23 games. At Eastern Illinois, Gulley was a member of the Sports Marketing Media and Public Relations program.

Gulley served as a Sports Marketing and Public Relations Intern for the athletic department where he developed and implemented marketing plans for special home events, promoted sports content on social media and assisted in gameday promotions and ticket sales, while securing partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
